Comfort in Sorrow

2 Corinthians 1:4

May God comfort you and be the source of all mercy and compassion in your life. May He cause comfort to overflow through you to others.

2 Corinthians 4:16 †

Thank You, God, for enabling us to persevere. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. Our present troubles are small and will not last long, but they are producing an immeasurably great glory that will last forever. Help us to look forward to what we have not seen. Our troubles will soon be over, but our joys will last forever.

James 1:2-4

Help us to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, because we know that this develops perseverance, maturity and completion in our lives, so that we are not lacking anything.

Hebrews 4:15-16 *

Thank You for giving us Jesus, the High Priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses, who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin. Thank You that we can approach Your throne of grace with confidence and receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.
